A chase leads to the arrest in Marshfield.
It was just before 10:45 on Sunday morning when a Marshfield Police Officer located a vehicle involved in a recent vehicle pursuit with the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department.
The vehicle was located near E Veterans Pkwy and Heritage Dr. A Marshfield Police Officer attempted a traffic stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. A pursuit continued for approximately 8.2 miles through the City of Marshfield with speeds in excess of 100mph.
Marshfield Police Officers conducted several pursuit intervention technique (PIT) maneuvers and deployed a tire deflation device to disable and stop the vehicle. A 29-year-old male driver was arrested without further incident with assistance from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
The male was transported to Wood County Jail and charges are being referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
