One of Madison’s most well-known Black Lives Matter leaders is in jail after police say he smashed the state’s Police Memorial with a sledge hammer.
Officers arrested 25-year-old Jordan King for the damage on Tuesday. Madison Police say King also had a loaded handgun on him at the time, and did not have a permit. Police say video caught King smashing the memorial at the Wisconsin Capitol 23 times on Tuesday. Video also shows King smashing lights and windows at the statehouse.
