Local universities are implementing changes to their move-in procedures to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 ahead of their start dates.
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse says students will have to move into dorms between September 2nd and September 7th by appointment and they will adjust how often shared spaces will be cleaned. The university is also requiring social distancing and masks for students as well as offering more self-cleaning options.
Viterbo University is enacting similar measures and giving students up to two weeks to move in, rather than the usual three days they offer, giving them the opportunity to bring their belongings to campus, get their rooms set up and go home.
