This is the first day of practice for some high school athletes in Wisconsin.
The WIAA says students who are in ‘low risk’ sports, like cross-country, girls tennis, girls golf, and girls swimming, can begin practice today. Students who are in ‘high risk’ sports, like football, soccer, and volleyball, have to wait til September 7th to start practicing. The idea is to try to protect kids from the coronavirus. The start of high school sports come just a few days after the WIAA approved changes to the fall sports schedule to allow for more games and more playing time.
