Wisconsin child care facilities are having a difficult time facing the uncertain future as the fall school year approaches.
Macy Buhler is the owner and director of Yahara River Learning Center in DeForest and has been serving the children of essential workers throughout the pandemic. Buhler has asked other children to stay home in order to comply with countywide mandates to have a smaller group of children in daycare. With smaller groups of kids and rising expenses the owner is uncertain how she can keep serving the community without a larger income.
