EFFORTS UNDERWAY TO HELP HOMELESS

We should have a better idea by the end of week just how many people are living on the streets in western Wisconsin.

The twice-a-year homeless count in Eau Claire, Buffalo, Trempealeau, and Jackson counties started last night. The idea is to count people who don’t have a place to stay, and then find them some help. Last summer’s homeless count found 20 people in those four counties. Advocates say this year’s count could be larger.
