After being closed for three months, Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire’s Carson Park will reopen June 17 with new health and safety procedures and new summer hours.
Chippewa Valley Museum closed March 16 to help slow the spread of COVID-19. “This is a gradual reopening. Not all museum spaces will be
available immediately,” noted Olaf Lind, Communications Specialist. “This allows time for staff to learn new procedures and see what works and doesn’t work in our main museum building.”
Phase I in the reopening plan will last until about mid-July. Highlights include:
Limited capacity: 9 per group, no more than 50 in the building at one time
Face coverings required for guests and staff. Disposable masks available.
One-way traffic through exhibits
Hand sanitizer throughout the building
Hands-on interactives removed from exhibits
Public health signage posted throughout the building
Limited Summer Hours: Tuesday 5-8, Wednesday – Sunday, 12-5
