VETERANS TRIBUTE BREAKS GROUND

VETERANS TRIBUTE BREAKS GROUND

The Chippewa Valley Veterans Tribute is coming, and you will be able to see the first steps flying high this week.

On Friday June 12, at 3pm the Veterans Tribute Foundation will break ground for a new 140’ flagpole.  It is the first piece of the Veterans Tribute to go in and marks the start of a long awaited addition to our community.

This is a groundbreaking for the feature flagpole that will be placed on the North East side of River Prairie Park in Altoona next to the Highway 53 bridge.

The original plan was to break ground on the Veterans Tribute Honor Mall with a Blue Angels flyover, but plans were cancelled due to COVID 19 regulations. The foundation will host an actual groundbreaking of Phase 1, the tribute itself, this summer.  The plan is to stay on track for a dedication of the Eau Claire County Honor Mall in the fall of 2020.
