Thousands of students and faculty members at the University of Wisconsin want the school to start over in its search for a new president.
UW’s search committee interviewed their only candidate yesterday. Two thousand students and faculty members signed a petition yesterday demanding the school try again. They are upset that they didn’t have a say, and that the candidate, University of Alaska System President Jim Johnsen, isn’t from within the UW System.
Johnsen yesterday said he hopes to work on relationship building if he is hired as UW President.
