Wisconsinites have a good reason to celebrate.

Today is the state’s 172nd birthday. Wisconsin officially became the 30th state in the Union on May 29th, 1848. Perhaps a slice of “cheese” cake is in order.
Here are a few facts you may not know:
- The first ice cream sundae in the country was created in Two Rivers in 1881

- The first circus in the United States performed in Delavan, and Fox River is one of the few rivers in the country that flows north.
