Wisconsin is seeing more than five thousand people per-day test negative for the coronavirus.
Yesterday’s coronavirus count from the state’s Department of Health Services shows that negative tests have topped five thousand for four straight days. So far, nearly 140 thousand people have tested negative for the virus, while about 12 thousand people have tested positive.
Wisconsin’s governor says the people of the state are going to have to manage the coronavirus on their own, because he says state government likely won’t do it for them. The governor was on UPFRONT yesterday, and said there will be no ‘grand bargain’ with Republicans. He says Republicans have made it clear that they don’t want any restrictions, so he says he won’t push for any new restrictions after the Supreme Court struck down his Safer at Home order.
Here, locally some local health departments are continuing to encourage coronavirus prevention strategies. The Jackson, Eau Claire, Chippewa, and other local County Health Departments continue to say preventative measures continue to be crucial and more important now than ever. Health officials remind that COVID-19 testing will continue to be offered, and the health department will work with other local departments to determine next steps. We will keep local changes posted as they are announced.
