SECOND FEMA FACILITY PLANNED IN WI

Governor Evers is awaiting the results of an application to begin the development of a second care facility in Wisconsin to help the state prepare for a potential surge in COVID-19 cases.

The Governor submitted the application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency yesterday that would create a backup care facility as to not overwhelm Wisconsin’s healthcare systems in the south-central region of the state.

The Army Corp of Engineers is partnering with states to build upon existing, local medical infrastructure in response to the spread of COVID-19. Governor Evers says he hopes the second site won’t be needed, though it’s an essential backup to help the state get ahead.
