April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.
The State Department of Children and Families says data from 2018 shows there were nearly 45-thousand reports of child maltreatment which is defined as neglect plus abuse. Maltreatment was confirmed in 55-hundred of those cases with many victims ranging in age from newborn to three-years-old.
