A western Wisconsin man is being sentenced to at least 54 years in prison for the deaths of three Girl Scouts and their mothers.

Chippewa County Circuit Court Judge James Isaacson gave 23-year-old Colten Treu a sentence of 99 years. He must serve 54 in prison and the remaining 45 years on electronic surveillance. The victims were cleaning up a highway when they were run over by Treu’s truck in 2018. Treu had pled no contest to four counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Isaacson went on to describe the tragedy saying it was very surreal.
