You can still get a plastic straw at a bar or restaurant in Madison, you just have to ask for it.
The city council last night approved a plan to stop waiters and waitresses from handing-out plastic straws. The idea is to cut down on plastic waste. The ban applies to all restaurants, coffee shops, bars, cafes, sandwich stands, food trucks, and cafeterias in the city.
