Governor Tony Evers wants to know more about student debt.
The governor signed an executive order today creating a task force to look into the causes of student debt and some of the ways it can be managed and reduced. The governor says too many Wisconsinites can’t afford additional education or job training and student debt is preventing them from starting a business or a family or making a big purchase like a home.
The panel will include the governor, the president of the University of Wisconsin System and the secretary of the State Department of Financial Institutions.
