LEGISLATION TO ADDRESS MANDATORY HOLOCAUST CURRICULUM

Schools across Wisconsin could soon be looking at another required lesson from lawmakers.

The legislature is considering a plan that would add mandatory lessons on the Holocaust to the curriculum in both middle school and high school. State Senator Alberta Darling, who is the plan’s lead author, says the idea is to make sure that young people learn about the Holocaust and have an understanding of the hate that drove it.
