One man is dead and two others were taken to the hospital after a crash in Barron County. It happened just before 1 p.m. yesterday near Chetek.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says a Ford Escape driven by 52 year old Edward Wakefield, of Dallas hit a semi-truck driven by 42 year old Shawn Robbins of Rice Lake. The passenger in the Escape, 46 year old Robert Wanrecke is the one who died while 33 year old Ashley Halpin of Chippewa Falls was taken to the hospital with injuries. Troopers say they are still investigating the details of the crash.
