Prosecutors in Eau Claire are moving ahead with charges against a woman who they say stole 35-thousand-dollars from her boss.
The D.A. charged Karen Towberman Friday with embezzlement. Investigators say she wrote herself checks over a three-year span.
Police say Towberman admitted that she took the money, but she said she needed it to make ends meet. Towberman faces as much as 20 years behind bars if convicted, she’s due back in court next month.
