VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN CHRISTMAS EVE CRASH

The Minnesota State Patrol is identifying the victim of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on Christmas Eve in Hokah.

The state patrol says it was Kerrie Jean Hauser, of Hokah, who died in the collision at the intersection of Highways 16 and 44.  Among the other details being provided by authorities: that Hauser was struck by an SUV driven by Brittany Robb of Lewiston, Minnesota, and that alcohol is not an apparent factor in the crash.

But the state patrol isn’t saying if this at a hit-and-run as a previous media report citing witnesses has indicated.  The MSP says the case is still under investigation.
