The Henry Vilas Zoo is set to benefit from a generous donation.
The Henry Vilas Park Zoological Society announced Friday it plans to donate eight-million-dollars to the zoo it used to curate until the city took over the zoo park administration.
The monies are going into three separate sub-funds. One is earmarked to have a million-dollars in a permanent endowment, a second fund has six-hundred-thousand-dollars available to help pay for the zoo’s necessities and the balance will be used in a third fund for education, conservation and animal welfare.
