It costs a lot of money to clear snow from the roads, and Eau Claire County has seen lots of snow in 2019.
County Highway Commissioner Jon Johnson yesterday said he expects to end this year 60 thousand-dollars over budget. The county sets aside about 800 thousand-dollars a year for snow removal. Johnson says there is some emergency money that he can use to cover the extra expense, so he doesn’t think he’ll need to ask county leaders for more.
