WAUKESHA STUDENT SHOT IN SCHOOL OFFICER EXCHANGE

Waukesha Police say an officer shot and wounded a 17-year-old student at Waukesha South High School only after the student pulled a gun and pointed it at the officer.

The shooting sent students running from the classroom yesterday morning. No one else was hurt. Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack says the officer told the student to drop the gun several times, and didn’t fire until the teen took the gun out and pointed at him. Governor Evers praised the police for their quick action to keep other students and teachers at the school safe.
