UW SYSTEM STICKS TO CURRENT PANEL TO PICK

The University of Wisconsin is not going to add faculty members to the panel that will pick the school’s next president.

University regents yesterday said they are sticking with the nine people named to pick a replacement for UW System President Ray Cross. Faculty members from all 13 UW campuses wrote to regents, demanding a seat on the committee.

Board of Regents president Drew Petersen said the current and former regents and administrators on the search committee have a diverse view that can help find a new university president.
