Eau Claire has a new school board member. The board last night named Phil Lyons to fill their empty seat. Lyons has lived in Eau Claire for the past 12 years and works at UW Eau Claire as the Vice Chancellor of Administrative and Student Life Services.
There will be a second open seat on the school board in Chippewa Falls next year. Member Amy Mason yesterday said she’s not going to run for another term. Mason has served nine years on the school board, including two as board president. Mason says her job now requires her to travel more, and that hurts her ability to give her all to the board.
