We’re kicking the caboose back to Duluth.
Eau Claire is unloading the Soo Line locomotive. City leaders last night voted to see the defunct locomotive back to the Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth. The city bought the train from the same museum last year, but restoration project went off the rails once city leaders realized how expensive it would be.
Eau Claire is now on track for a profit as well. The city bought the train for four dollars last year and is selling it back to the museum for eight.
