WI DAIRYMEN CONCERNED ABOUT EFFECT OF SITING LAWS

Wisconsin’s dairymen are once again warning about what could happen with a new layer of bureaucracy for local communities.

The Wisconsin Dairy Alliance late last week wrote an open letter to lawmakers that highlights their worries about changes to Wisconsin’s siting laws. The Alliance says local governments need to be afraid of a new layer of bureaucracy that will hamper their ability to manage projects and deal with farms in their communities.

The Evers Administration is proposing new siting laws as a way to protect land and water. The Dairy Alliance says the proposal goes too far, and makes it seem as if dairymen across Wisconsin are the bad guys.
