We have an update on the remains found in a wooded area in Menomonie. The remains found on Thursday, September 12th have been identified as human.
The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Wisconsin State Crime Lab. Additional information will be released when it becomes available. It was approximately 7:34 in the evening when the Menomonie Police Department responded to the 300 block of 28th Ave. N., in which it was reported that possible human remains were found in a nearby wooded area and after confirmation that they are, police are in the early stages of the investigation, which is still ongoing.
The Menomonie Police Department has no reason to believe the public is in any kind of danger.
