A Democratic lawmaker from Stevens Point wants to find four-million-dollars in the state budget to fight chronic wasting disease.
State Rep. Katrina Shankland yesterday introduced a plan that would spend two-million on CWD collection, and another two-million-dollars on CWD research. Shankland says CWD is a threat to Wisconsin’s deer population, and she wants to get a handle on the disease before it’s too late.
