Wisconsin Senators Tammy Baldwin and Ron Johnson are calling on Wisconsinites to remember the losses and courage of September 11, 2001.
In tweets today Baldwin said survivors and first responders carry the weight of that day with them always and it’s important to stand by them and families of those who were lost. Senator Johnson visited the 9/11 Memorial this week in New York City where there was a Homeland Security hearing. He says people need to go there to be reminded how September 11th changed everything.
You likely noticed the flags flown lower today around our area and in our own state, Governor Evers and his staff are honoring 9/11 with a day of service.
Evers gave his staff and other personnel time to join the Dane County Parks Department planting trees and clearing the shoreline at Lake Farm County Park today. The governor says it’s in the spirit of remembrance for the victims of 9/11 that we give back to our community.
