La Crosse police are looking for whoever called in a phony report of a double shooting.
Officers responded in force to the call yesterday afternoon at a home on the city’s south side. Someone called 911 and said they had just shot two people inside the home. After an hours-long standoff, police went into the home and found nothing. Investigators say they are looking for the person who made the call.
