FUNDS TO FOCUS ON WI OVERDOSES

Wisconsin will be receiving over five-million-dollars in federal funds to help reduce opioid overdoses in the state. 

Senator Tammy Baldwin announced the federal funding today which will be used to enhance prevention efforts.  The Department of Health Sciences says the effort will focus on opioid surveillance as well.  It’s a three-year cooperative agreement with the CDC to highlight the need for a comprehensive public health approach to the crisis.
