Public health managers in Eau Claire County are warning people to be very careful around bats that cannot fly.
The county’s health department on Friday said it confirmed that a bat found in Altoona tested positive for rabies. It comes just a couple of weeks after someone found a rabid bat in Eau Claire’s Phoenix Park. Health department managers say the first sign that something is wrong is when you see bats during the day, the second sign is if the bat is flopping on the ground or not flying.
