WI LEADERS CHIME IN ON LATEST MASS SHOOTINGS

Senator Tammy Baldwin says it’s time for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to bring gun safety reform to the Senate floor.

The Wisconsin Democrat says today the House passed bipartisan legislation to expand federal background checks for all gun sales, which the American people overwhelmingly support.   She says failure of Washington to act is a moral failure when a majority of Americans are demanding action.  Baldwin says a vote is needed in order to start saving lives.

In other political news: Sen. Johnson Criticized For Gun Violence Solution

Republican Senator Ron Johnson says the long-term solution to gun violence lies in renewed faith, strength in families, less virtual socialization and more genuine human to human interaction.

Johnson was criticized on his Twitter feed for taking his position that some feel ends up with little or no resolution to the issue.  Over the weekend many victims of past mass shootings and families who have lost loved ones have said thoughts and prayers, blaming mental illness and lowering the flag in honor of victims are not solutions to the problem.
