The top Republicans in Madison say a report that they’re looking to force through a new political map is fake news.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald yesterday both released statements that push back on a story in the Wisconsin Examiner that says they are looking to approve a new political map by joint resolution. That would side-step Governor Tony Evers.
But Vos’ spokeswoman says the idea is not up for discussion, and calls the report a ‘scare tactic’ and ‘misinformation.’
