The man who shot and killed four people in Chippewa County is identified as Ritchie German. The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office says German shot three family members in the town of Lafayette and one in Lake Hallie yesterday. He also wounded two people in Lake Hallie. His victims included his brother, mother and eight-year-old nephew. German took his own life following his killing spree.

After an afternoon press conference we are learning more details about the murder suicide in Chippewa Co.
The perpetrator, 33 year old Ritchie German Junior, shot and killed his Mother, brother Douglas German, and 8 year old nephew Calvin German in Lafayette.
Further victims include 24 year old Leila Vang of Lake Hallie. The original 911 calls that came in from the home on the 13000 block of Lake Hallie indicated multiple gunshots and among those injured were Vangs parents. They were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries and are recovering.
We know that German Jr. drove his deceased brothers car from the residence in Lafayette to the Vang’s home in Lake Hallie and left the 2016 Kia running while he broke into the house and started firing a gun before turning the it on himself.
Authorities are investigating any connection the Germans may have had to the Vangs and are asking the public to come forward with any additional information that make help the case.
