LACROSSE TACKLES LAW ENFORCEMENT

La Crosse’s acting police chief says a planned county task force to focus on law enforcement issues is fine, but he wishes there would be more public discussions.

Chief Rob Abraham on Wednesday said La Crosse County’s new policy to handle interdepartmental issues is fine, but he says it’s not an open process.

The county’s district attorney, Tim Gruenke, is pushing a three-step process to talk about issues among the law enforcement community.  Abraham got a lot of attention last month when he called out La Crosse County judges for not keeping people in jail.
