Wisconsin Republicans are proposing an amendment that would limit the governor’s veto power.
Republicans created the proposal in response to Tony Evers vetoing a school funding plan and adding about 84-million-dollars to it. Republicans say the governor’s veto powers need to be limited to restore the Legislature’s constitutional authority. The amendment would need to pass through both houses in consecutive sessions and be passed by voters before it would take effect.
