EVERS PUTS PEN TO PAPER FOR YOUTH CORRECTIONS

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections will have some more time before closing two youth facilities.

Governor Tony Evers said today he signed a bill on Friday that keeps the troubled Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake facilities open until July 2021.  They had been scheduled to close in January 2021.  The governor says more time is needed to get replacement facilities prepared and to be sure the process for transferring between facilities is clear.
