Hotel rooms in La Crosse will cost more as the city looks for a way to pay for work at its convention center.
La Crosse’s city council last night approved a point-and-a-half increase to the city’s hotel-motel tax. Visitors will now pay nine-and-a-half-percent tax each night. City leaders hope the tax will raise the two-and-a-half-million dollars they need to pay for 42 million-dollars in renovations at the La Crosse Center.
