About 400 troops from western Wisconsin will head to Afghanistan this summer.
The 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry out of Eau Claire is being mobilized. Guard commanders say they will provide security for coalition forces in the region. Soldiers from Menomonie, New Richmond, Rice Lake, Arcadia, Onalaska, River Falls and Abbotsford will all make the trip.
