A Baldwin man will go to prison after being convicted of trying to have sex with a minor.
Prosecutors say Jay Hoppe responded to an ad in May of 2018 from someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl looking for sex. It was actually a Rice Lake cop. Hoppe was arrested at the arranged meeting spot. Hoppe was found guilty of three counts relating to the case yesterday. He’s facing more than 100 years in prison.
