EDUCATION FUNDING DOESN’T ADD UP

Republican lawmakers in Madison say they’re ready to spend a half-billion dollars more on public schools in the state. 

But, Democrats and Governor Evers’ office say that’s not enough.  The legislature’s budget writing panel, the Joint Finance Committee, will meet today to vote on a school funding package.  Governor Evers pitched a one-point-four-billion-dollar increase for public schools in his budget.  Republican lawmakers say they want to spend 500 million.
