A retired La Crosse priest is facing questions after police say he offered a woman cash for sex.
It happened last week outside of the library in La Crosse. Police say Monsignor Bernard McGarty offered a woman 20 dollars, then put his hand in her lap. McGarty told police he offered the woman the money because she’s homeless, he denied asking for sex. This is not McGarty’s first arrest for something like this. Police in Wausau say he exposed himself to a massage therapist back in 2014, and asked her for sex as well.
