Western Wisconsin’s power company is getting ready to close its last coal fired power plants.
Xcel Energy yesterday announced plans to close its two remaining coal plants by 2030. Xcel filed a plan with regulators in Minnesota to close the coal plants, and expand its nuclear plant as part of a mission to be carbon neutral in the next decade or so.
