The campus at UW La Crosse is looking to grow.
School leaders last night asked city leaders in La Crosse to allow them to take over a few more city streets. All of the streets are near campus and will be turned into walking paths. La Crosse’s city council is okay with the plan, but are asking UW leaders to make sure the streets are kept-up enough to accommodate fire trucks if there’s ever an emergency.
While we are chatting higher education, two of the newest members of the UW Board of Regents have ties to western Wisconsin. Governor Evers yesterday appointed Eau Claire attorney Edumund Manydeeds the Third and UW La Crosse student Olivia Woodmansee to the board. This is Manydeeds’ second go on the board, he served as a regent from 2010 til 2017.
