Students at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire are learning about the importance of controlled prairie burns after the city’s first of the year was held yesterday.
The students joined Prairie Restoration from the Twin Cities to set fire to invasive grass along the Little Niagara Creek. The students will learn about the burn by watching prairie grass grow in the area throughout the summer.
