A young man in Eau Claire is getting a homework assignment instead of a jail sentence.
A judge yesterday sentenced Jared Beaulieu to write two essays, one on making Eau Claire a better community and another on integrity. Beaulieu pleaded guilty to a lesser charge after breaking into a gas station and Dairy Queen back in December.
