MISSISSIPPI RIVER TOPS OUT

The Mississippi River will top out just short of major flood stage in La Crosse.

The National Weather Service yesterday said the river should crest at just over 14-and-a-half feet tomorrow.  That’s about a foot below major flood stage.  Forecasters though say it will be a while before the river is back inside it’s banks.  They don’t expect the Mississippi River to fall below 12-feet in La Crosse till some time in May.
