Governor Tony Evers says it doesn’t matter if most people in the state don’t want to see Wisconsin’s gas tax go up. He’s pushing ahead anyway.
The governor told reporters yesterday that he understands that people don’t want to pay an extra eight-cents-a-gallon for gas. But, Evers says Wisconsin can’t build new roads unless they do. The latest Marquette University Law School poll shows 57-percent of people in the state oppose a higher gas tax.
